About Us
Our Story
Salubre Care was founded by Brian Benson, MD, PhD, and Kaley Benson, RN, with a shared vision of creating a more personal and responsive approach to addiction medicine and behavioral healthcare.
Their professional paths were different, but both had seen the same problem: addiction, mental health concerns, and complex medical issues rarely exist in isolation. Yet patients and families were often left navigating fragmented systems, multiple providers, and treatment plans that addressed one piece of the problem without considering the whole person.
Today, Salubre Care provides physician-led addiction medicine, behavioral health, medication management, and complex care for patients and families seeking a more individualized approach to treatment.
They founded Salubre Care to provide another way—one built on meaningful physician involvement, strong patient relationships, thoughtful care coordination, and the flexibility to respond to the needs of the individual.
The Salubre Care Approach
Care Built Around the Person—and the Moment They Are Ready
Addiction, withdrawal, medication complications, and behavioral
health problems rarely unfold according to a convenient schedule.
Neither should access to help.
Our Process
There are moments when a person who has resisted treatment suddenly says, “I'm ready.” A family that has struggled for weeks or months may finally have an opportunity to intervene. Or a difficult problem involving addiction, chronic pain, mental health, or medication may reach a point when waiting for the next routine appointment simply does not make sense.
At Salubre Care, we believe those moments matter.
Our approach begins by understanding the person—not simply the diagnosis. We look at what is happening now, what may be contributing to the problem, what can be managed safely, and what could make lasting improvement more difficult.
Then we build care around what that individual actually needs.
Sometimes that means quickly arranging a physician evaluation or medically supervised home detoxification. Sometimes it means psychiatric care, medication management, counseling, addiction treatment, or carefully tapering a medication that has become difficult to stop. In more complex situations, it may mean bringing together several professionals and the people who know and support the patient best.
Depending on the situation, that team may include physicians, therapists, physical therapists, dietitians, personal trainers, recovery professionals, spouses and family members, and, when meaningful to the patient, pastors or other spiritual supports.
We do not believe every patient belongs in the same program—or even that Salubre Care is the right setting for every patient. When hospitalization, residential treatment, or another level of care is needed, we recommend it and help the patient and family understand what should happen next.
From the first urgent call through stabilization and ongoing care, our goal is thoughtful, physician-led care that is personal, responsive, and built around the needs of the individual rather than the convenience of the system.
But when high-quality care can be provided safely outside an institution, our model gives us the flexibility to meet patients where they are, respond when they are ready, and bring the right people together to help.
Meet the patient where they are. Be there when they are ready. Build the right team. Help them determine what comes next.
