Brian Benson, MD, PhD
Founder & Medical Director
Dr. Brian Benson founded Salubre Care with a vision of providing the kind of care he believed patients deserved—care that values relationships as much as medicine.
After earning his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2012, Dr. Benson practiced in primary care, hospital medicine, and urgent care. Across these settings, he repeatedly saw how addiction and untreated mental health concerns affected not only a patient's medical health, but also their families, careers, relationships, and overall well-being.
In 2018, Dr. Benson dedicated his practice to addiction medicine. He later completed a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Tulane University and achieved board certification in Addiction Medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
Today, Dr. Benson focuses on physician-led, relationship-centered care for patients facing substance use disorders, behavioral health concerns, medication complications, and other complex challenges.
